This is a good Lamson carved gravestone. Note the pronounced diagonal grain in the slate. Standing next to this gravestone are the Lamson carved gravestones of Mary Howes (1712) with a strong vertical grain and Isaac Howes (1728) with a strong horizontal grain. The three gravestones side by side make a dramatic display.
