CONDITION -
COMMENTS - The headstone back and edges were encased in resin bonded fiberglass applied about 1977. In October 2007 the headstone was excavated and the fiberglass backing was removed. Some loose broken pieces were bonded in place with epoxy adhesive. Mortar was applied to fill cracks and large voids due to stone loss in the front and back. The stone was cleaned and reset.

Barnabas Freeman was the 12th and last child of Samuel Freeman 1751 and Mary (Paine) Freeman 1770 who are buried in Cove Burying Ground. He is named after his brother Barnabas who died at age three in October 1736 just a few months before Barnabas was born. His brother Barnabas 1736 is buried in Cove.
