This is the oldest headstone in Cove to use the title "Mrs". Mercy (Freeman) Cole was the daughter of Samuel Freeman d1712 and Mercy (Southworth) Freeman d1712 whose gravestones are close by. Mercy and Daniel Cole had six children.

COMMENTS - Headstone and footstone back and edges encased in resin bonded fiberglass applied about 1977. Headstone and footstone cleaned October 2004. Fiberglass backing removed from headstone but left on footstone October 2008. Headstone cleaned with D/2 and reset October 2008. Headstone and footstone cleaned with D/2 May 2010.
