Lost in the Gale of October 3, 1841

monument monument

Sacred to the memory of 57 citizens
of Truro who were lost in seven
vessels which foundered at sea in the
memorable gale of October 3, 1841

Then shall the dust return to the
earth as it was and the spirit shall
return unto God who gave it.

Man goeth to his long home and the
mourners go about the street.
