Assuming the grave marker number agrees with the number in the Book of Deaths in the Pest House as reported in The Advocate, March 17, 1994, then this is the grave of Tamsin Manuel who died November 27, 1872 at age 73 years and 29 days. She was born in Orleans. She was the wife of Alexander Manuel and the daughter of Aquilla and Tamsin Higgins. The left photo with snow was taken January 1988 and published in The Cape Codder January 19, 1988. The right photo was published in the Cape Cod Times March 25, 2007. The photo was part of a story by Mary Ann Bragg about plans to take better care of this historic smallpox cemetery.
