The photograph on the left was taken in the 1970's or 1980's before the gravestone sunk. The photo is from the Farber Gravestone Collection owned by the American Antiquarian Society. Today much of the inscription and the epitaph are below ground. The title "Doct" is used in the inscription which is rare in this time period. The gravestone is carved in the style of William Codner, John Homer or the Lamsons of Boston.
