The headstone displays crossed bones over a winged skull. A very unusual feature is the two additional bones lying at the base of the tympanum for a total of four bones. Two crossed bones on a headstone are common but four bones are rare.
Researchers indicate Samuel had two children with Elizabeth (Sparrow) Freeman who died in 1764 and is buried in Brewster Sears Cemetery. One of their children was Samuel Freeman 1751 who is buried in Cove.
