This fieldstone is very difficult to read. It may mark the grave of Seth Paine. According to Eastham vital records, Seth Paine was born October 5, 1706 and died March 23, 1722/3. He was the son of Samuel and Patience Paine. If the attribution is correct this is the oldest gravestone to be found in Orleans Cemetery.
