return from the Victory
obtained at Cape
Breton A D 1745
in the 41st year of his age

This is one of a few sandstone gravestones from the 1700's on Cape Cod. The sandstone shows surface erosion over time. This gravestone probably was carved in Connecticut. Captain John Tallcott was a native of Connecticut.
