James Gilchrist (1689 - 1722) carved gravestones in Boston for 10 - 15 years. He was a contemporary of and influenced by other early Boston carvers including Emmes, Lamson, Mumford and Gaud. The following gravestones have been attributed as possibly carved by Gilchrist.
